For over 35 years the congregation at First Presbyterian Church has been holding a Live Nativity for the community. Held on the second Saturday of December, the Live Nativity is a solemn moment for many people to stop and contemplate the true meaning of the holiday season amidst the hustle and bustle of shopping and parties. Many people remember seeing it when they were a child and now they are continuing the tradition with their own children. The Live Nativity is usually held in conjunction with a Christmas homes tour in Gainesville so many people come into the historic district to witness this touching moment before going on to tour the homes. Our Live Nativity is also unique in that we have animals as part of the cast each year. Over the last two years we also have opened the sanctuary up for tours during that evening. So come and enjoy this special moment and visit our 100 + year -old-church. The Nativity took place on December 12th this year. We hope you were able to come by!
