On May 22, 1927 object of Session meeting was to authorize the re-chartering of the Boy Scout troop and to add additional numbers to the troop committee.  On motion the troop is to be chartered as the First Presbyterian Church troop and Lee McDaniel and Dr. R.C. Whiddon were added to the committee.

Minutes from Regular Meeting of Session

January 9, 1927

Jack Power and Otto Griffin, members of the Sunday school, presented themselves for membership in the church, and after certain questions asked by the Moderator had been answered by them in the affirmative, on motion they were unanimously received.  Otto Griffin on statement and Jack Power on statement and baptism.

*Side note from church historian:  the minutes say Otho Griffin, I have changed it to Otto believing that was a typographical error.

On motion, the session voted to endorse the application of Anna Ruth Morris, a member of this church and a student in Trinity University, for a loan from the Education Rotary Board of that institution.

January 16, 1927

Samuel Kennerly Culp, member of the Sunday school, presented himself for membership in the church, and after answering certain questions propounded by the Moderator in the affirmative he was unanimously received by statement as a regular communicant of the church.

April 10, 1927

The names of Mrs. Anderson King and Mrs. Mamie Dilliard were submitted for membership by letter and on motion they were unanimously received.

The names of Jasper Estes, Raymond King, Gideon Bell, Irb Bateman, William Tyler, Given W. Bradley, H.A. Gardner, E.V. Clay, Frank Morris, Dr. J.L. Griffin, Lee McDaniel and Hans Cook were submitted for ushers of the church and on motion they were unanimously elected.

September 4, 1927

The pastor reported the following names for membership in the church:  Miss Mary I. Wynne, Mrs. William Payne and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Knight, by letter.  James Atkins by experience.  These were unanimously received.

Letters of dismissal were granted to Mrs. Eben Junkin, Highland Park Church, Dallas; Frank Springer, San Antonio Presbyterian Church; Walter Cook, First Presbyterian Church, Quanah; Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Giltner and daughters Eileen and Doris to Central Presbyterian Church, Paris.

The Moderator presented the name of Mrs. W. L. Blanton for membership in the church, she bringing her membership from the Episcopal Church.  On motion she was unanimously received.

Letters of dismissal were granted to Miss Bertha Sigmund to City Temple, Dallas; and Miss Evelyn Fox to Baird, Texas, Presbyterian Church.

March 11, 1928

The pastor presented the following names for membership in the church by experience and experience and baptism:

For baptism:  Mrs. T.R. Hair, Bruce Mead, James Starr, Mary Starr, Gertrude Starr, Dorothy Mead, Devoe Betts, Frank Phillips, Mary Louise Whiddon, Douglass Whiddon, George Wood.

By experience:  Velma Hair, Ruth Bonner, Harold Cheaney, Virginia Marie Gross.

These were all unanimously received by vote of the session.

Letters of dismissal were granted to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sharp, Expositikon Park Presbyterian Church, Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henthorn, Central Presbyterian Church, Sherman; Austin D. Bryan, First Presbyterian Church, San Antonio.

The pastor presented the names of Dock Morrow and Dr. and Mrs. O.W. Cunningham for membership by letter, and Anna Marie Vanduker on profession.  They were unanimously received.

The names of Mrs. and Mrs. H.S. Holman were presented for membership in the church by statement and they were unanimously received.

Mrs. Marietta Story and her son Albert Story, were received into the church by statement.

The session voted to grant letters to Mrs. M.B. Stewart, dismissed to Polytechnic Church, Fort Worth, and to Mrs. Jack Corbitt, dismissed to First Presbyterian Church, Sweetwater, Texas.

December 2, 1928

Miss Ada D. Pearce and J.W. Seastrunk were dismissed by letter to the First Presbyterian Church, Norman, Oklahoma.

Mrs. M.B. Stuart, who was granted a letter April 27, 1928, returned the letter to again united with this church and she was unanimously received.

On motion letter was granted Mrs. Josephine Copeland to unite with the Calvary Presbyterian Church, Clovis, New Mexico.

The names of Mr. and Mrs. Portis Sims and Edwin Sims were presented for membership in the church by letter and they were unanimously received.

The following were received on profession of faith:  Patsy Hughes, Roy Eugene Hughes, Ben McPherson, Clinton McPherson, Gayden Moore, David Robb, Hal Timmis, Holner Schurig.

April 3, 1929

The names of Mr. and Mrs. John Price and their daughter Gletys (Gladys) Price were presented for membership in the church, they coming by letter from the Presbyterian Church at Whitesboro.  They were unanimously received.

The following names were submitted for membership in the church on profession of faith and baptism and they were unanimously received:  Harry Brooks, Wallace H. McDaniel, John Douglass Culp.

April 14, 1929

Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Smith were received into the church by letter from the First Presbyterian Church, Austin.  Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Greek were received into the church by letter from the First Presbyterian Church, Pampa, Texas.

All rolls of the church were made out in open session.  The following names were called and placed on the suspended roll:

Geo. Atkins, Ralph Atkins, Gilford Atkins, Amr. And Mrs. Price Aldridge, C.L. Aldridge, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Bagley, Mrs. Joe Curtis, Florence Kamp, Thos. Carthen, W.H. Ellison, Mrs. Faulkner, Eva Hocker, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Johnson, Helen Ludeman, George Lamb, Maurine Liles, Kirby McPherson, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Moss, Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Meyer, Willie Meyer, Eunice Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. E.I. McGee, Maggie Ryan, Nola Savage, Walker Savage and Eno Savage.

The following were placed on the non-resident roll:  Mrs. George Atkins and son James Atkins, Mrs. Joe Barbour, Mrs. F. A. Tyler and Mrs. G.T. Bryant.

At the request of Dr. Hughes, guardian of Patsy and Roy Eugene Hughes, the names of Patsy and Roy Eugene Hughes were dropped from the roll of the church.

Letters of dismissal were granted to Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Cross and daughter Virginia Marie Cross, to the First Presbyterian Church, El Paso, Texas.

The pastor presented the following names for membership which were unanimously accepted:

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brooks, by letter, Madelyn Brooks, by experience and baptism, A.L. Carlisle, by experience and baptism.  Mrs. Hannah Van Duker, by letter.  Chas. Van Duker, by experience, Ellis Van Duker, by experience.
