Welcome to the First Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in Gainesville! We are happy that you are interested in our church. Each Sunday morning, we have:
10:30 AM Morning Worship, and 11:30 AM Fellowship. A nursery is provided for parents who prefer to have their infants or toddlers cared for during worship. We are located at 401 S. Denton Street,
Gainesville, Texas.

Dr. Vivian Thomlinson will be bringing our message this Sunday on Father's Day. The title of her sermon is "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: The Trinity Lesson from John 14: 8-17." "As we celebrate Fathers on this Trinity Sunday, we need to be mindful of the great mystery that we call the Trinity. As our Bible verses today show, Jesus is IN and ONE with the Father, God, and God is ONE with the Son, Jesus. And both Father and Son are ONE with the Holy Spirit, and he is one with them.
The Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit are three essences but one unity. We call this mystery The Trinity, and to most human minds the idea of three beings in one Unity is beyond understanding. If you look for the term "The Trinity" in Scripture, you will not find the term itself. Yet the concept of The Trinity exists from Genesis to Revelation. In our passage today, Jesus explains to his very human, finite-minded Disciples that he, God, and The Holy Spirit are ONE, and each member of the Trinity's ultimate aim is to help us glorify the Father, God, by living in accord with His will.
