Ghouls, Goblins, and Groceries
On October 31, the historic neighborhood around the First Presbyterian Church fills with princesses, cowboys, warriors, goblins of various sorts, and a multitude of other characters not normally found in the area. More importantly, the neighborhood is filled with the happy sounds of children going door to door trick or treating. It is All Saints Eve (Halloween) and the ghouls and goblins are out and about!
We turned that night into an event for VISTO which we call "Ghouls, Goblins, and Groceries." That night is an opportunity for trick or treaters to come to the church and donate food for VISTO while they receive treats. The children get their treats but it is also a chance to give to a very worthwhile organization. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. Even with COVID or possibly because of it parents and their children were at
in force on Saturday night. Over 500 bags of candy were distributed and we collected money and food donations for VISTO. It was a great night!
