Welcome to the First Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in Gainesville! We are happy that you are interested in our church. Each Sunday morning, we have:
10:30 AM Morning Worship, and 11:30 AM Fellowship. A nursery is provided for parents who prefer to have their infants or toddlers cared for during worship. We are located at 401 S. Denton Street,

!Join us on Sunday, July 12th when Dr. Vivian Thomlinson will bring our homily "Fruit, Weeds, or Barren?" based on Gen. 25: 19-34 and Matt. 13: 1-9 and 18-23. In the story of the birth and rivalry of twins Jacob and Esau told in Genesis 25: 19-34, we have an excellent illustration of the message behind Jesus's parable of the farmer's sowing seeds into different types of soil. Some seed lands in fertile soil, takes root, matures, and produces a big harvest. But some seed falls on rocky ground, where it takes root but only shallowly, and because it is rooted deeply in fertile soil, it quickly perishes in the hot sun. Still other seed is grabbed up by birds and never roots at all but is lost. Isaac and Rebekah's twin sons were born to the same parents and reared similarly. Yet their inclinations, choices, and aspirations were very different. Human choices play an active role along with God's Will for each individual. What is YOUR soil like?
