Welcome to the First Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in Gainesville! We are happy that you are interested in our church. Each Sunday morning, we have:
10:30 AM Morning Worship, and 11:30 AM Fellowship. A nursery is provided for parents who prefer to have their infants or toddlers cared for during worship. We are located at 401 S. Denton Street,
Gainesville, Texas.

Please join us on Sunday, July 26, when Dr. Vivian Thomlinson will bring our homily entitled "Wise but Weak-Solomon's Sad Story" based on 1 Kings 3:5-14; 11:9-12. David's son with Bathsheba, Solomon, inherited a united Israel, all 12 Tribes together under one King thanks to King David's character and charisma. Under King Solomon, United Israel grew in riches, fame, and power, thanks to God's covenant with David and his offspring and to Solomon's God-granted Wisdom. Leaders came from all nations then known too marvel at Israel's temple, the home of God on earth, which Solomon built according to God's dictates. And all who came were astonished by Solomon's great wisdom. But, like so many then and now, Solomon's grandeur got the better of him, as did his 700 wives and 300 concubines, mostly pagan, regional women. King Solomon, blessed so lavishly in all ways by the One God of Israel, followed his many lovers into idol worship and departed from God's laws and ways. One of the saddest stories in the Bible, repeated all too often, even today.
